Kevin Jacobs reporting with an exclusive interview with one of GCW's stars. It is the last stretch before one of the most anticipated events of the calendar year: Dangerous Games.

I had the chance to sit down with Johnathan Fitzwillis, better known to the world as Johnny Borealis, to get his take on winning the GCW TV Title, the rocky friendship between him and Dominic Wall, various encounters backstage, and one man's view of the upcoming Dangerous Games match.

Far removed from the mentality of The Swaggerer or Your Guilty Pleasure, I was able to find a more toned down Johnny Borealis. Perhaps it was the removal from the audience of a live show, or the knowledge that he didn't have to bother to steal the camera's focus, but he was relatively laid back to speak with me.

Jacobs: Johnny Borealis, you have been thrust to center stage since making a surprising, and very expensive, return at High Stakes. It seems like Garbage Bag Johnny has kind of told you, "Alright. You want the spotlight. I'm going to give you a chance to shine or perhaps fail miserably."

Borealis: I'm not going to claim to know a lot about Commissioner Garbage Bag. But I know what I've seen. The man doesn't seem to care about the mathematics of this world, the separation of tiers between the established elite and the people trying to make a name for themselves. I think he looked at me and did just what you said. I made a lot of noise right off the bat, and he gave me the chance to choke on my own words.

Jacobs: Right off the bat he threw you against four of the most established stars in this company. Tessa Windsor, coming off her World Championship, Chris Storm, Chris Bagwell, and Bryan Mayhem. Two shows in a row you were teamed with the young Dominic Wall. What do those matches tell you?

Borealis: [takes a moment to consider] It tells me that no one is safe. You know? Those four names have been solid, solid contenders for so many years here. Commish says, "I'm not going to bullshit here. If you two think you can hang with the best, let's see it."

Jacobs: And what about Dominic Wall? You two were partners those first weeks, and then there was some tension between you at Devil's Night. You walked out with what was his TV Title. Any thoughts?

Borealis: Well first, this [holds up title belt] is not a goal. It's not a prize nor bragging rights. It's a building block. It's a mile marker that I have to build on, to use as a tool. Nobody goes through the work to become a professional wrestler to brag about having the TV Title. It's a start.

Jacobs: That's a view quite contrary to what you held five years ago. Do you think Dominic Wall will share that view? There is a rumor that he will be your opponent to try to regain that belt at Dangerous Games.

Borealis: I understand if Dom's a little befuddled right now. He got the pinfall in both of our tag matches, and he might feel a little betrayed that I took this from him. I left him a voicemail a couple nights after the match, to try to let him know...I get it.

Jacobs: Do you feel he is entitled to a rematch at Dangerous Games?

Borealis: Absolutely.

Jacobs: Of course, Wall is only one of many people that you have some tension with. You had a less than pleasant run-in with Triumph Frost at Devil's Night, as well as a tense moment with Christian Zenith.

Borealis: I've got nothing against Frost. He's the epitome of what I support, actually. He's young, he's wrecking everybody in his way, and he's not about to apologize for it. As for Zenith, I apologized for bad mouthing him. But I am not about to bow down to him.

Jacobs: And Chris Storm? You two seem to have been having a war behind the scenes.

Borealis: Chris who? [smiles] I haven't seen anybody by that name backstage for quite a while.

Jacobs: That speaks worlds by itself. Finally, the Dangerous Games royale is one of the most anticipated events of the year. The world is going to be glued to it, and this year there are probably more new faces than veterans. Do you have any sort of take on it?

Borealis: Heh...what am I supposed to say who I think will win? Obviously I think I'm going to win. But you go as Tempest and she'll say she thinks she's going to win. Ask Shaman and he'll say he thinks he's going to win. Ask Bryan Mayhem and-...

At this point Johnny's eyes darted up and to the left as he realized what he had just said. A brief smile later and he returned to reality.

Borealis: On second thought, I would just stay away from asking Bryan Mayhem anything. But the point is, every single person believes they're going to win Dangerous Games. You have to. If you don't go down to that ring thinking you're going to take it, you might as well stay backstage.

Jacobs: If you weren't involved in the match, who would your money be on?

Borealis: It's never that simple. Predictions can fly around, but being skilled or focused or lucky are all just parts of what factor in. Andy Murray has the experience and the momentum, Vee Jay Vee has the focus and the bloodlust...but someone like Alex Redding or Sylus Creed? Who the fuck are they? The trick is, that's what an established star is going to say when their ass is knocked out of the ring by an up-and-comer. Predicting this thing is a folly.

Jacobs: Johnny, thank you much for the time today. I wish you, as with every GCW star, good luck in Dangerous Games.

Borealis: As I said, luck is only one of many factors. Thanks Kay Jay.
